Slovenia has a comprehensive and very well developed road system, with good surfaces throughout the whole country. Public transport is reliable, comfortable and inexpensive, with buses being the most popular method of traversing the nation and the widest-reaching, getting people to places the trains simply cannot. Taxis are available in most towns and are surprisingly cheap. Rail travel is cheap and efficient, if unspectacular. The network covers most of the country, but some regions such as Bled are unreachable by train so bus is the preferred method. Domestic flights operate from Maribor and Portoroz, but with the small size of the country internal flights seem pretty pointless unless time is a factor!
